The new album

The music on “Nonetheless” is both elegant and thoughtful, mixing electronics, live instruments and orchestral arrangements. The songs are very melodic and are quintessential Pet Shop Boys with a fresh and open sound, bringing together classic strands of songwriting and moving them in new directions. The duo, regarding the creative process of the album, declared: “We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and different emotions that make us human. From the most danceable songs to the introspective ballads, with their splendid string arrangements, each song tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.”

About James Ford’s work they said: “We are very excited to release this new album. The 10 tracks are the strongest indicators of where we are today. Like most of our music, it is very reflective. It was great to work with James Ford, who we think brought new elements to our music. Our demos are sometimes quite complicated and James dared to make us a little more minimal, but the string arrangements are also very beautiful.”
