The pointed gun, the marijuana, the electronic bracelet. These are the photos that convinced the Third Court of Appeal of Milan to report Baby Gang, born Zaccaria Mouhib, in prison. What betrayed the trapper idol of the new generations were the images shared on her Instagram page and used to promote her new album-“The Evil Angel” – released on April 26, a few days before ending up behind bars again. The Italian-Moroccan singer’s lawyers assure that the social posts with photos and videos had been “authorized” by the judges, but perhaps the judges did not expect such a display of criminality.
In the images, which are still visible on Baby Gang’s Instagram page, the 22-year-old almost proudly shows off the electronic bracelet on his foot, a restriction imposed on him by the court starting last January following a new charge of armed assault against a friend. Among the social photos, five in total – published starting from the release of the new album – there is also the shot that portrays the trapper in the car among bags of marijuana holding one pistol golden. In the post Baby Gang points the weapon at the camera lens, almost challenging those who look at it.
The danger of recurrence
For this and for other reasons the court suspended his house arrest, justifying the choice with precise words: “He communicated with an indeterminate number of subjects, publishing photographs on Instagram, where he is portrayed holding a gun pointing towards the camera, flaunting the electronic bracelet”. It would therefore have been the one who betrayed himostentation of objects and symbols that recall criminality and which, for the judges, still make him a dangerous subject with the concrete possibility of “reiteration of similar facts“. Before the new arrest, the trapper was under house arrest waiting to serve first degree sentences of 4 years and 10 months for a robbery and 5 years and 2 months for a shooting that occurred in the summer of two years ago in an area of the Milanese nightlife.
Last March 26th through his account Instagram he had written some bars aimed at his fans: “Judged guilty by a pack of sheep, they tried to make me weak just because I don’t follow their rules, but… many people tell me change that mentality, but until this society changes I will remain the same rebel as always”. In the next few days Baby Gang’s lawyers will present a formal appeal to the Court of the Review but in the meantime the trapper remains in custody in the prison in Lodi.
On June 4th he will have to return to court for the second degree trial for the shooting.
