There’s less and less left until the debut of The Acolyte on Disney Plus, next June 5th. The trailers released so far they kept the plot mysterious while presenting us with lots of details; but a new clip recently leaked shows us important new scenes and unpublished dialogues that reveal a lot of background to us. This is why I invite you to watch it below only if you are ready to receive potential spoilers!
The Acolyte clip
WARNING, POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW.
In 30 seconds this television clip hides many confirmations and news on the plot. The first sequence (which is cleverly disguised in the May 4th trailer) shows us the robes of Jedi Master Indara and practically confirms her death; hypothesis which I told you about in the analysis of the trailer. We also have potential clues to her killer, who could be Mae Ma “from a certain point of view”. You will understand later what I mean.
The dialogue between is also explored Master Sol and Yord Fandarand we discover that when talking about Mae and the fact that she was one of her students, Yord replies to Sol that she was now a student of the Dark Side, an Acolyte. I am delighted that the word “Acolyte” is finally actually used by the characters, and therefore there is finally a clear differentiation between the Force users of the Dark Side (who are not all Sith).
Shortly afterwards we also see an in-depth look at the scene on the planet similar to Ahch-To, where the Force user seen in the trailer activate the red-bladed lightsaber. Then there is another scene of dialogue between Sol and Vernestra Rwoh, in which he tells her “let me bring her here”. But the most striking sequence is the final one, in which we always see Mae on the ice planet where Sol, Yord and Jecki Lon are as she escapes. She then pleads with Master Sol telling him “I didn’t, believe me”. Here he seems to be a completely different character from the one seen in the trailers: probably because it is.
Turning point on the protagonist
A very intense scene which reveals another important plot element, perhaps the most important: there will be “two” Maes in the series. Or rather, we’ll see two twin sisters played by Amandla Stenberg; one from the light side, who will be entangled in the investigation, and one from the dark side. Which if you think about it it is also suggested to us by the poster. We therefore have confirmation of a very old leak which spoke of the presence of two sisters.
This sensational clip ends with a new look to the Dark Side Force user’s clash with the Jedi, and in particular with Yord Fandar who is preparing to face him with his golden-bladed lightsaber. In short, as I was telling you, this commercial from The Acolyte revealed it to us in just 30 seconds tons of details about the series.
