The Mandalorian & Groguthe highly anticipated film that will mark the big screen debut of its beloved protagonists, will bring the franchise back to the cinema Star Wars After The Rise of Skywalkerthe final chapter of the sequel trilogy arrived in 2019.

To date we still know very little about the film, however in the last few hours a intriguing update which will surely please all fans of the Galaxy Far, Far Away and science fiction fans in general.

According to what a famous insider reported, Sigourney Weaverunforgettable protagonist of the saga of Alien as Ellen Ripley, star of Ghostbusters and more recently the franchise of Avatarsis said to be in negotiations to join the cast of the film.

As for the role that will be entrusted to the star, this still remains shrouded in mystery. At the moment we also know very little about the movie plot, except that it should continue the adventures of the TV series starring Pedro Pascal. His placement within the chronology of the live-action series remains a mystery, however, since the fourth season of the show has already been written to also adapt to the events of another beloved Star Wars series such as Ahsoka.

The film will pave the way for Lucasfilm’s new era projects, which will include others in addition to the series already announced three films which will be directed respectively by James Mangold, Dave Filoni himself, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who will dedicate herself to the chapter that will see the return of Rey Skywalker.

Sigourney Weaver is the first name that is associated with the cast of The Mandalorian & Groguwhich is expected to begin filming by the end of 2024. The direction will once again be entrusted to Jon Favreau, already at the helm of the mother series. This will also be involved as a producer alongside the president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy and the chief creative officer Dave Filoni.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is expected at the cinema for May 22, 2026.
