After David Leitch’s statements on the new Jurassic Park film and the reasons that pushed him to leave the direction of the project starring Scarlett Johanssonin these hours important news has emerged from the cast’s point of view.
In fact, Deadline exclusively reports that Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will be the male protagonist in the next chapter of the franchise from Universal and Amblin Entertainment. The cast will be led by superstar Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey (another Netflix star from the Bridgerton series) while the direction has been entrusted to the author of The Creator, Godzilla and Star Wars: Rogue One Gareth Edwards, for a release date set for July 2, 2025.
The new film promises to be a new take on the saga, with Jurassic World cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard not reprising their respective roles, nor will original trilogy stars Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill. However the screenwriter of the original Jurassic Park David Koepp wrote the new episode, which will once again be produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin, and by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley through Kennedy-Marshall.
As for Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, he will next star in Netflix’s Spanish-language film Pedro Páramo, based on the Mexican novel of the same name by Juan Rulfo and directed by cinematographer Roberto Prieto, making his directorial debut.
