That Suicide Squad didn’t go well is certainly nothing new, but Warner Bros’ sharing of financial data paints an even more complicated picture than we thought.
As reported VGCin fact, the CEO and President David Zaslzav of Warner Bros Discovery defined Suicide Squad as a reason for disappointments results of the first quarter of the entire Studios division.
The Studios division, which includes Warner Bros Pictures, DC, Warner Bros Television Group, Warner Bros Games and New Line Cinema, has recorded a decline in revenues compared to the previous year. The reason, according to Zaslav, is precisely due to the poor performance of Suicide Squad:
«We have the characters and stories that people love and want everywhere in the world, in every language. Unfortunately, the studio’s first-quarter financials were overshadowed by the Games division’s tough performance, following the strong performance of Hogwarts Legacy last year and the disappointing first-quarter release of Suicide Squad in our gaming group.”
