Traffic changes in via San Francesco

LENDINARA (Rovigo) – The road in front of the Baccari school has been modified to facilitate access and parking for the cars of the students’ parents, avoiding situations of chaos and wild parking during the entry and exit times of the students. The changes to traffic on Via San Francesco and on the east carriageway of Piazzale Statuto, established by the municipal council and now introduced with an order from the commander of the local police Emanuele Rosina, made their debut yesterday morning, May 20th, with the creation of the new horizontal signs. Work done quickly to implement the change at the start of the week.

The aim is to reorganize traffic on Via San Francesco, during the hours of entry and exit of pupils from the state primary school in the centre, with the presence of parked cars, in Piazzale Statuto and Via Caduti del Lavoro. Already in February the local police commander had carried out a test of moving the vehicles. which met with the favor of the Institute.

In via San Francesco, in the included section between the intersection with Piazzale Statuto and Via Caduti del Lavoro, the one-way traffic is reversed. From today we proceed in the direction of Via Caduti del Lavoro with the limit of 30 kilometers per hour. The road will no longer be cordoned off during entry and exit times, parents’ cars will be able to access freely and use the new car parks along the street, around a dozen located on the south side and partly on the stretch of the north side where school buses previously parked . In fact, the parking spaces dedicated to minibuses are no longer needed, because the vehicles will take the children directly to the courtyard behind the school.

Finally, in the stretch in front of the school there is now a raised pedestrian passage that will encourage you to slow down and two parking stalls, adjacent to the raised passage, dedicated to the parking and stopping of vehicles serving people with disabilities.

The road network also changes for the east carriageway of Piazzale Statuto, where a one-way traffic system has been established in the direction of Via San Francesco, accessing from Via Marconi. The elimination of two-way traffic has made it possible to create around ten parking spaces.

In this way we wanted to create a rest space dedicated to the school to allow parents to access, to bring or pick up their children.

The pedestrian area in front of the school therefore disappears during the relevant times.

In recent days, the parking lines in Piazzale Kennedy, behind the post office, have also been redone: parking has been free for a few years, but the old blue lines remained.
