The city council, with 21 votes in favor and 7 abstentions, approved the concession of Libero Liberati to Ternana Calcio.
The object of the resolution provides, for the “Public sports service of management of the municipal sports facility consisting of the Stadium and the adjacent Giorgio Taddei sports field”, the definitive project for the valorisation, management, in conditions of economic-financial balance. Continuation of the technical-administrative process. The redefinition of the contractual terms in place for use by the company and association”.
The act establishes to entrust the concession of services relating to management; to approve the draft agreement between the Municipality of Temi and the company Ternana Calcio SpA for the use of the sports complex; to establish the duration of the concession until the signing of the overall project agreement for the construction of the new stadium (which provides for the transfer of the same in surface rights) and in any case for at least one year in order to allow the football club to register for the next national professional football championship; to establish the sum of 30,000 euros (thirty thousand) net of VAT as the annual fee to be paid by the Società Ternana Calcio spa to the municipal administration for the management and use of the municipal stadium and anti-stadium.
The agreement states that the concessionaire undertakes to guarantee ordinary maintenance and the execution of any extraordinary maintenance interventions for a maximum amount of 100 thousand euros to be carried out during the year of validity of the concession.
The debate heated up over the failure to request Ternana, in the resolution, for a guarantee. Vice mayor Corridore accused the Democratic Party of not wanting the city’s football team to register for the championship. The leader of the Democratic Party, Francesco Filipponi replied: “you made the mistake, the guarantee was foreseen in the current agreement and it is not our fault if you presented the resolution only today when you had a year.” “We arrived late – replied the vice mayor – because we were thinking of activating the stadium-clinic procedure, which is why a bridge agreement was made for one year”.
