Avellino is preparing for its debut in the playoffs, with the Catania match approaching. The director of the green and white technical area, Giorgio Perinetti, spoke to the microphones of TMW Radio during the “A Tutta C” event. The Wolves manager spoke about his team’s debut, scheduled for tomorrow on the Etna field, more than three weeks after the last official match. And physical condition is among the most discussed topics: “It’s a problem we know, linked to three weeks of inactivity. We were in excellent condition at the end of the championship, the team trained very well but certainly lacked match rhythm. Playing in front of 20 thousand people, after three weeks without important friendlies, will not be easy. Against Catania we won both the first leg and the second leg, but this doesn’t give us peace of mind. They have an important structure, we hope to do well in the first leg and then play with more confidence in the return match at home. We tried to manage this break as best we could with training sessions done very well and we hope to be able to put in an important performance in the legendary Cibali tomorrow.”
On the possible match with the winner of Vicenza-Padova in the semi-final, Perinetti says: “We must congratulate whoever made the draw, because they created some extremely valid clashes. However, we will be ready, we will try to manage the first leg as best we can before playing everything in the return match at home. Then we’ll think about the challenge with the winner of Vicenza-Padova, in case of success we’ll face a possible favourite.”
