Great success for the “L’Aquila Città Territorio” cycling tour organized by the CSI.
Beyond all predictions, beyond all expectations, participation in the 60 km cycle tour “L’Aquila City Territory” organized by the Provincial Committee CSI L’Aquila. Event created to promote and rediscover the territory surrounding the city of L’Aquila which, historically, was the county that gave rise to the city. It was a 1st edition that will be repeated annually, changing the route year by year. The objective was to enhance the territory and attract cycle tourism so much so that for the third time it has organised, training courses for cycle tourism guide instructors and trained around 30 young people who can be used by the accommodation facilities. The cycle tourism route, which started from the Parchi Airport, also crossed the Municipalities of Pizzoli, Barete, Piana di Cascina (Municipality of Cagnano Amiterno), Big Bench at the Valico del Cantero, Hamlet of Preturo, Municipality of Scoppito Hamlet of Sassa and Civic Uses of Forcella and stopped for three refreshment stops.
In conjunction with the cycling tour, the third edition of “L’Aquila in bici” took place, an event aimed at families and children, in a completely new guise. The caravan, which left from the runway of the Parchi Airport, arrived at the archaeological site of Amiternum where Prof. Forgione of the University of L’Aquila illustrated the history of the archaeological site. After the visit to Amiternum, the return to the airport for a guided tour of the hangars, the bike park for the little ones and refreshment with the delivery of certificates of participation. The Provincial President of CSI, Dr. Luca Tarquini thanks the Municipality of L’Aquila for the patronage and contribution, the Councilor for Sport Vito Colonna, the President of the executive committee of L’Aquila grows with sport Dr. Francesco Bizzarri and the Abruzzo Region, the sports councilor Dr. Mario Quaglieri and all the Municipalities involved for their fruitful collaboration in the success of the event. Particular thanks were addressed to all the participants in the initiatives, who arrived from L’Aquila and the surrounding area, which this year numbered over 300.
