ACIREALE – The agents of Investigation Team of the Commissariat of Acireale have carried out a provision to aggravate the precautionary measure, issued by the Third Criminal Section of the Court of Appeal of Catania, against a 40 year old convicted felon acese that was drawn in arrest.
The man was under house arrest. In the past he had been found in possession of two clandestine firearms. The sentence, issued on February 9, 2024had sentenced him in first instance, with an abbreviated sentence, to the sentence of three years and four months of imprisonment and a fine of 3,200 euros.
Now he has ended up in prison because, not considering himself validly assisted by his lawyer in the context of a civil case against ex-wifeit would have the lawyer was insulted and threatened with death reporting that he was going out to get a gun to shoot him.
Having assessed the criminal record of the Acese criminal and his actual ability to obtain weapons, the Judicial Authority deemed the existence of concrete and present danger that he could implement the threat, considering the precautionary measure of house arrest no longer sufficient.
Therefore, the agents of the Acireale police station took the man from his home to take him to the Prison in Piazza Lanza in Catania where it is restricted to the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
