L’Aquila: workers from the Gran Sasso tourist center storm the council

The issue of the workers of the Gran Sasso tourist center, after the stop of the cable car for the change of ropes, also breaks out in the city council

A delegation of workers, accompanied by the unions, went to Palazzo Margherita where they met the mayor Pierluigi Biondi for a short meeting: first with the permanent workers and then with the fixed-term ones. Next Tuesday there will be a special council commission requested by the center left: the Gran Sasso issue will be at the center of an extraordinary municipal council always requested by the opposition.

No workers wanted to speak after the meeting with the mayor. This was done by the secretary of Filt Cgil Andrea Tucceri who explained that the mayor reassured the workers but we will have to see the terms and whether he will understand more in the following days.

“The protection of the employment perimeter, at least for permanent workers, is not in question”, said the mayor of L’Aquila Pierluigi Biondi who with the councilor for investee companies and mobility, Paola Giuliani, the delegated councilor for policies of the mountain, Luigi Faccia, and the head of the citizen services department, Tiziano Amorosi, met this morning with a delegation of workers from the Gran Sasso tourist centre. «The meeting was necessary to clear the field of misunderstandings caused by incorrect information that has arisen in recent days. Concerns and expectations were shared
for a more stable working condition for seasonal workers, given the skills acquired, professionalism and length of service. The problem would have arisen in any case given the contractual deadline and that of the ranking at the end of June. In any case, the Municipality has guaranteed all support to the tourist center, both for the technical and administrative/accounting, environmental and personnel management aspects. Proposals emerged from the table which will also be examined in relation to the shuttle service and the overall reorganisation.
It was specified that, to date, the Ctgs has no liquidity problems and that, even if the Solidarity Fund arrives late, the Company itself will take care of it. At the same time, activities relating to the technical aspect of the general overhaul of the cableway are proceeding, starting with the replacement of the cables. The dialogue with Ansfisa is constant. The deadline for the expression of interest is scheduled for tomorrow and therefore the list of professionals who have expressed their willingness to participate in the selection for the drafting of the executive project will be available.»
