L’AQUILA – A national course on corneal donations and transplants in Italy and, at the same time, an in-depth update on the most recent innovations in eye-banking and corneal surgery: all this in the presence of the most important in the national panorama of the sector.
The event, entitled “Sibo 2024: people, innovation and surgery”, will be held tomorrow, Saturday 18 May, in the “Luigi Zordan” conference center of the University of L’Aquila.
All 12 structures present in Italy took part in the important event, promoted by the Italian Society of Eye Banks (Sibo).
Speakers will include, among others, the president of Sibo, Diego Ponzin; the director of the National Transplant Center, Giuseppe Feltrin; the director of the Eye Bank of L’Aquila, Germano Genitti, head of the Ophthalmology department of the San Salvatore hospital in L’Aquila, former vice president of Sibo (currently a councillor), who has the role of scientific director of the course.
