An hour later, Forza Italia also met the citizens, presenting the 32 candidates who took the field to support Aldo De Benedittis. And he did so by ‘deploying’ the party’s general staff: in Campobasso, in addition to senator Claudio Lotito, Maurizio Gasparri, group leader of Forza Italia at Palazzo Madama, also arrived.
Coordinator Lotito took care of sounding the charge for the candidates: «We have to conquer Campobasso, Termoli but also and above all the European Championships. The capital is very important, we must demonstrate that Forza Italia is not only alive, but is a point of reference for the territory and the nation. All together we must make a great effort. Forza Italia is a party that gives answers to people, we have a moderate mayoral candidate who has experience and who represents the concrete synthesis of the coalition. We need to go and knock on every door to involve people and explain Forza Italia’s proposal. We have placed the human being with all his needs at the center of our political action, therefore housing, pensions, healthcare, taxes, justice, businesses, work. We interpret politics with a spirit of service.”
Maurizio Gasparri instead underlined the importance of completing the institutional chain after the victory in the Region: «We have an important commitment for the Municipality of Campobasso first of all, in the past months we have faced a regional election and President Roberti is acting well, in coordination with us who are following the entire reorganization and relaunch work of the region. Now we have municipal elections in Campobasso and Termoli, Molise remains a place of great commitment and attention for Forza Italia. Then there are the European elections, the first national elections without President Berlusconi, but as we have already seen with the vote in Abruzzo and Basilicata Forza Italia has grown in consensus, those who predicted that with the disappearance of an irreplaceable leader like Berlusconi the party would had a difficult fate has been proven wrong.
We hope to also be protagonists in Campobasso and Termoli, and in the European elections with the candidate Antonio Tajani. Forza Italia is becoming an area of catalysis for moderates, it is indispensable for the centre-right because it completes it and broadens its perimeter.”
