Joining ‘World Safety Day’, the Construction School Authority of the Province of L’Aquila held a conference yesterday entitled ‘Quality and effectiveness of training and controls on safety in the workplace: let’s stop the massacre’.

A topic of fundamental importance considering that safety at work does not only represent a legal and moral responsibility for companies, but also an inalienable right of every worker.

According to the INAIL database, in 2022, 1,208 fatal accidents in the workplace were reported in Italy, of which 175 – practically one every two days – involved the construction sector.

This confirms that the most effective tool against workplace accidents remains prevention. And prevention is achieved thanks to training.

During the event, industry experts, trade union representatives and professional associations spoke, sharing their knowledge, experience and best practices.

Among the interventions, also that of the Prefect of L’Aquila, Giancarlo Di Vincenzo and the magistrate Donato Ceglie.

The investment in safety, therefore, represents an investment in our future, in the future of the largest construction site in Europe.

Every euro spent on training and preventive initiatives is a euro spent to protect the lives of workers, improve the quality of our work and ensure operational efficiency.

Stopping the massacre must and is a collective commitment that concerns everyone: from the trainer to the employer, from the managers on the construction sites to all the workers.

Advocating for a culture of safety must become the imperative to be set as an objective of shared growth and respect for life.
