In Rome the timeless photographs of Vincent Peters

After the great success achieved at Milan And Bologna, Vincent Peters shows off a Rome with a selection of black and white works created between 2001 and 2021. Until August 25thin the rooms of Palazzo Bonaparteit will be possible to admire the shots ‘Timeless time’ with which the German photographer has immortalized celebrities and brands all over the world. The absolute protagonist of his works is the lightcapable of defining the emotions and telling the stories of the subjects portrayed, always transcending their status.

Born in Bremenin Germanyin 1969, Vincent Peters he moved at just 20 years of age to New York where he began working as a photographer’s assistant. Having returned to Europe, in 1999 he continued his career in the fashion agency led by Giovanni Testino. Over time, Peters specialized in celebrity portraits, immortalizing the most iconic faces of the contemporary star system. Among the campaigns developed for the big brands we highlight the shootings carried out for Armani, Hugo Boss, Adidas, Bottega Veneta, Diesel, Guess, Hermes And Louis Vuitton.

Edited by Maria Vittoria Baravelli, the exhibition itinerary features famous faces from fashion and cinema. This is the case, for example, of Christian Bale, Kim Basinger, Laetitia Casta, Cindy Crawford, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, Michael Fassbender, David Beckham, Scarlett Johansson, Milla Jovovich, John Malkovich, posing in front of Peters’ lens over the course of 20 years of continuous activity. In each of the portraits created, the beauty and charm of the characters is captured, crystallizing their story in each daguerreotype. The photographer captures fragments of reality to return them condensed in a ‘black and white’ with a neorealist flavour.

In what is a sort of timeless journey, made of shadows and reflections, it is possible to breathe the air of Cinecittà in the times of the sweet life thanks to one Monica Bellucci in an intimate version portrayed in the legendary ‘studios’ and at a Vincent Cassel almost superhuman. An entire series is dedicated to Emma Watson as an angry young woman with an intense gaze. The expression of the eyes is the focus of every glossy image in the project, with the exception of a sensual one Charlize Theron who avoids gazes by covering himself with an immaculate sheet. Produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with Noble Agencythe exhibition sees as ‘main sponsor’ Credem Euromobiliare Private Banking and, as a sponsor, Mercedes-Benz Italy And Ferrari Cellars.
