the question of Stefano Alberti councilor of the Democratic Party

The advisor Stefano Alberti of the Massa Democratic Party council group presented a question to the mayor Francesco Persiani to request the recovery of the public car park in via Massa Avenza which is in a degraded condition. “The car park – explained Alberti – used for the temporary parking of heavy vehicles and motor vehicles, has for too long now shown the image of an open-air landfill where waste of all kinds is scattered everywhere together with the carcasses of abandoned vehicles. It also borders a fuel station with an adjoining service area and car wash. The lack of controls on this area is evident and also the fact that heavy vehicles park on the north side, even though it is not permitted. It should also be added that the maneuvers of heavy vehicles have sometimes caused dangers and caused damage to the car wash, as in the case of the fall of a light pole which ended up on the facility, fortunately without causing harm to people. We have verified that there are video surveillance systems in the area but that, apparently, they are not active and this, combined with the present degradation, causes a widespread sense of insecurity for those who cross or use the services of the area in question. The service area offers motorists and hauliers a wide range of services, has some pumps for heavy vehicles and a dedicated emergency exit lane but unfortunately, many times, it appears to be occupied illegally by parked cars, parked by those he goes to the nearby management building. We therefore ask the mayor and the Apuana Industrial Zone Consortium and the Province of Massa Carrara, how the municipal administration concretely intends to deal with these problems and with what timescales the necessary cleaning interventions will be carried out in the area with waste removal and abandoned cars; activation of video surveillance systems; monitoring compliance with the rules for using the car park by heavy goods vehicles and other vehicles; of the delimitation of the rest area from the activities of the nearby distributor (creating, for example, a barrier in New Jersey) to avoid dangerous new accidents; installation of deterrent posts to combat illegal parking in the lane dedicated to heavy vehicles; of the necessary control services, on the area in question, by all the law enforcement agencies responsible for this service.
