Spice- The first edition of the Blue Design Summit, the new event dedicated to the design, construction and refitting of superyachts, scheduled until May 17th, kicked off today in La Spezia. Today’s program includes meetings with students at the University on the topic of training opportunities for creative professionals in the nautical sector.

Tomorrow the meetings with and between operators in the sector will begin at the Bucchioni auditorium in La Spezia.
The summit is promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, MiglioBlu, the Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea, Confindustria La Spezia, the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce, Confartigianato, CNA La Spezia and Liguria International and is organized by Promostudi and Clickutility Team. The objective is to build an annual event that is a point of reference for the nautical industry, a sector in which Italy is a world leader in terms of the quality and quantity of its creations.

Blue Design Summit stands out in the panorama of nautical events in Italy for its focus on design and planning, a field where Italian creativity has the opportunity to fully express itself, thanks to the constant and fruitful dialogue with the production component, from shipyards to furnishings, from equipment, materials and high-quality craftsmanship that make a Made in Italy superyacht recognizable at first sight. The topics on which the superyacht industry will discuss, stimulated by the main journalists in the sector, range from the mutual influences between nautical design and “land” architecture, to specific trends in the sector, both from the point of view of shapes and external lines and habitable spaces. The debate of ideas and creations will also touch on the theme of sustainability, with particular attention to the new trend of sailing superyachts, materials and propulsion. finally we will discuss residential yachting, in which Italian shipyards are once again protagonists.

To crown the primacy of Italian design and creativity, the Summit, on the evening of May 16, will host the awards ceremony of the first edition of the Miglio Blu Design Awards, decided by a jury of designers, journalists and industry experts.

Blue Design Summit is an event dedicated to sector operators, organized by Promostudi and Clickutility Team, promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, “Miglio Blu – La Spezia Nautical District”, the Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea and Confindustria La Spezia .
