PUGLIA – «The approval by the Senate of the amendment to the decree on the Pnrr which allows the entry of associations pro life in the clinicsrepresents, 46 years after the entry into force of the 194, an attempt to attack women’s right to self-determination and to receive, in a delicate and often painful moment, objective information free from ideologies. Involving these associations, known for their anti-abortion positions, represents a step backwards that we cannot tolerate in any way.”
This was declared by the epidemiologist and regional councilor of the Democratic Party, Pierluigi Lopalco who, together with the PD councilors Lucia Parchitelli and Michele Mazzarano, presented a motion in the Puglia regional council. The motion «commits the Regional Council to express dissent with respect to the indications contained in the amendment approved by the Senate and not to exercise the option provided for with regard to consultancy services, especially in consideration of the risks of violation of privacy”.
«The consultants – he says Lopalco – they have always played, since their establishment, a central role in education on contraception and prevention, and must continue to be places where women can feel welcomed by specialized personnel and supported, without suffering discrimination or judgement, even at the moment in which they decide to undertake a certain path”.
