Comparison topic: the mystery of evil. A theme addressed by Mauro in an article in the aftermath of the Hamas attack against Israel and by Prosperi in an essay entitled “On the fall of the angels. Investigation into the origins of evil”.
“In a historical moment in which we are surrounded by evil which increasingly pervades social relations and becomes the protagonist, with wars, of international relations” – declares Nicola Sabatini, President of Kolbe – “stimulated by Mauro’s article, we have decided to involve in the discussion a young theologian who has studied this topic in depth and extensively. The aim is not to indicate recipes created around the table capable of overcoming evil but, first and foremost, to learn to look at it with courage as it manifests itself, allowing ourselves to be questioned by reality”.
Therefore reality will be the protagonist of the meeting, looked at with the eyes of a lay person who has witnessed in his professional life a rare ability to read the circumstances and the historical moment we are experiencing and by a theologian who will try to push the investigation always deeper in the name of that reason which, by definition, cannot hide every possibility of response.
The appointment, the third of the itinerary organized by the Massimiliano Kolbe Cultural Center entitled Beyond the Conflict, is scheduled Thursday 16 May at 9pm Salone Estense.
