The Cammino della Pietra Bianca is born, 118 kilometers among the beauties of Southern Umbria

It winds along a 118 kilometer route between the municipalities of Alviano, Amelia, Attigliano, Avigliano Umbro, Giove, Lugnano in Teverina, Montecastrilli and Penna in Teverina, touching the villages of Sambucetole, Dunarobba, Farnetta, Castel dell’Aquila, Collicello, Macchie and Porchiano del Monte through paths and dirt roads accessible both on foot and by bicycle. It is the White Stone Path, inaugurated Sunday 12 May with the zero edition of the recreational-motor walk “Umbra Walking Ultramarathon”.

The event, promoted by the municipalities crossed by the path, with the patronage of the Umbria Region and the Province of Terni, was organized by the social promotion association Panta Rhei in collaboration with the pro loco and associations of all the territories of the municipalities involved. 45 walkers were invited to test the route and the organizational machine in view of future editions which will be open to anyone who wishes to register. Those who follow the Cammino della Pietra Bianca will be able to stamp their credentials in each village and obtain a certificate of completion.

According to the organizers, the comments and feedback from the participants were very positive and highlighted the perfect organization and preparation of the Camino, the wonderful landscapes, the warm welcome and the abundance and quality of the refreshment points. Aps Panta Rhei wanted to thank the administrations, associations, volunteers, businesses and walkers who contributed and made the event possible.
