In Orvieto in Fiore on 17 and 18 May Aperitif Floral Wine – Street Food in collaboration with the Etruscan Roman Wine Route

Saturday 11 May the presentation conference took place 12th edition of “Orvieto in Fiore” in the Urbani Hall of the Opera del Duomo. The president of the Opera del Duomo, Andrea Taddeiexpressed the pleasure of hosting the “Orvieto in Fiore” conference, since the event is strongly linked to celebration of Pentecost and the traditional Palombella festival.

The Mayor of Orvieto, Roberta Tardaniunderlined that the best days for the city are coming, those that bring us to traditional festivals and that make us feel even more like a community.

It is dedicated toLove the 12th edition of “Orvieto in Bloom”the event that accompanies the city of the Duomo on the weekend of Pentecostand of Palombella, from May 17th to 19th.

She also spoke during the press conference Maria Rosa Borsetti, representing the Etruscan Roman Wine Route of Orvieto, who illustrated the initiative organized together with the Orvieto Neighborhoods Committee for 17 and 18 May, specifying that the project offer does not only become entertainment for residents, but a comet for local tourism. The Orvieto in Fiore 2024 Program:

Drawings developed by the students of classes 2A, 2B, 2C, 3C, 3D of the Orvieto artistic high school on the theme chosen by the Bishop of Orvieto and Todi, Monsignor Gualtiero Sigismondi, “There is no fear in love”, taken from the words of the Gospel of John. The other initiatives

Many collateral initiatives enrich the three days of the program. The “Aperitif Floral Wine – Street Food” initiative:

The Orvieto Neighborhoods Committee in collaboration with the Etruscan Roman Wine Route of Orvietoon the occasion of “Orvieto in bloom”, he organized for the 17 e May 18th the FLORAL APERITIF WINE -STREET FOOD., which consists in combining cocktails based on fruity Orvieto wines (rose, prosecco, sparkling wine and others) pure or even mixed with other liqueurs with the finger-food tasting of local gastronomic products, but all, both drinks and food, they must stick to the theme of the competition, that is, they must be created and decorated with flowers and fruit, with skill, originality and skill of the bartenders and chefs and pastry chefs.

Also worth mentioning are the particular initiatives entitled “Historical and Etruscan aperitif” which will take place on Saturday 18 May 2024, in various historic locations in Orvieto, as follows:


Mancinelli Theatre

At 11am and 6pm, historical aperitif within the splendid setting of the Mancinelli Theatre, with tasting of aperitifs and nineteenth-century dishes paired with Orvieto wines.

You can take part in a guided tour inside the Theater at the times: 11am and 6pm.


Hadrian’s Labyrinth

At 12pm and 7pm Etruscan aperitif in the evocative Etruscan-themed Hadrian’s Labyrinth. You will be able to taste foods that refer to the historical period and visit the underground which offers cisterns and tunnels from the 5th century BC


Olmo and Serancia alla Cava

At 11am and 6pm Double visit and double tasting in the heart of the medieval quarter, where Olmo and Serancia meet.

Guided tour of the Small Marian Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Cave and the Archaeological Complex of the Pozzo della Cava, with tasting of Orvieto wines paired with dishes inspired by the 16th century of the 2nd construction site of the Pozzo and the 17th century of the Baroque restoration of the Church.
