Genoa’s Under 18 team misses their first match point to qualify for the play-offs, drawing 3-3 in Verona. A match full of emotions: the Grifoncini, strengthened by some elements from the Rossoblù Primavera and the Under 17, went ahead by three goals (to one) thanks to goals from Ekhator, Lattari – sixth time to score in the last seven matches – and Venturino . Between the two penalties conceded, one on each side, saved by Bertini on Devoti and by Esmanech on Genoa’s Carbone, Hellas shortened with Carlino and then equalized with Caneva. Mister Ruoltolo’s Grifoncini, driven by a great desire to win, even end the match with three posts hit by Grossi, Sancinito and Carbone.
With two days to go, Genoa are fifth (one point behind Lazio) at +3 on Milan and Empoli, a pair on equal merit but with the Rossoneri ahead of the Tuscans in head-to-head matches. In the penultimate round of the championship, the rossoblù will host Lecce, who have nothing left to ask of their season, while Empoli will play in Parma: the ducals, two points from the play-offs, can still get in, as can Cagliari if they were to beat league leaders Inter today.
