Meeting between experts from the fitness sector from South Tyrol and Germany

A delegation from Germany made up of trainers in the fitness sector recently met at the Union’s main headquarters in Bolzano with the leaders of the Union’s Fitness category to compare experiences and knowledge relating to the training sector in the field of physical activity and of well-being in both territories.
During the meeting, the various projects for young people and the initiatives to support training created by the association were presented, including the awareness campaign to strengthen the consideration of entrepreneurs in the fitness sector as providers of services in the field of well-being and health.
The German guests shared an overview of the challenges they are faced with, in particular the difficulties of attracting young people to train – a situation which, in the last 15 years, has experienced a truly significant change. In Germany, training lasts three years and is recognized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which places great value on qualified personnel.
Another theme of the meeting was the academic training in Sports Sciences offered in Italy which allows those who pass it to teach sports activities. A much sought-after objective in South Tyrol is the introduction of certified training that clearly defines the professional profile and is recognized by the provincial government.
The meeting ended with a lively discussion and extremely positive feedback from the German visitors, who greatly appreciated the opportunity to exchange practical visions and innovative approaches. International collaborations of this type not only strengthen the local economy, but also boost the quality and professionalism of the sector taken into consideration.
The president of the category Armin Bonamico and the vice-president Elisabeth Gliera thanked Alfons Steiner, for many years director of the Gutenberg professional school in Bolzano, for having laid the foundations for the meeting.
