Second appointment Wednesday 15 May Of 3 films, directorial trips, the proposal closely linked between Cinemazero and Pordenone Docs Fest – The voices of the documentary, which aims to enhance the work of three directors and testify to the validity of their films and their research.

At 8.45pm the director Costanza Quatriglio, already a guest at Cinemazero as a juror of the 16th edition of Pordenone Docs Fest, will present to the public The secret drawer, in competition at the Berlinale 74 in the Panorama section.

Sicily, the world, a house, a library. A sentimental and adventurous journey in a now unknown twentieth century, through 8mm reels, photographs, sound recordings, documents from a unique archive, that of the journalist and writer Giuseppe Quatriglio, who dedicated his life to telling the story from the perspective of a universal Sicily of artists, poets and intellectuals. The spark is the intense work carried out by her daughter, the director Costanza Quatriglio, in preparation for the definitive separation from her father’s library donated to the Central Library of the Sicilian Region. From his native house, places imbued with stories unfold; private memory and collective memory are intertwined in a dense dialogue between the daughter and her ninety-year-old father in the unpublished footage taken between 2010 and 2011 and preserved to this day. Palermo and Sicily, with their history and culture, are the observation point of the world: everything leaves and everything returns.

The review will end on May 22nd with Love by Virginia Eleuteri Serpieri, in the presence of the author the water in which water becomes an allegory of human nourishment, of the heat that has been missing, of the lack of attention on which the author questions herself.
