? Florence Tramway – The construction works of the Fortezza-San Marco (Vacs) tramway line are progressing towards completion.

On the night between Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th May (from 1am to 5am on Tuesday) the construction site area in Piazza della Libertà will be modified, moving towards the definitive layout of the road network for traffic flows arriving from Ponte Rosso and Viale Matteotti and headed towards viale Lavagnini and viale Matteotti. This is what a note from Palazzo Vecchio reports which specifies that the traffic lanes will all return to the road, abandoning the parking area on the former Fondiaria side.
Still with a view to the path towards the definitive layout of the square, from Tuesday 14 May, at night (10pm-5pm), the asphalting of the lanes of the square from Viale Matteotti in the direction of Viale Lavagnini and Viale Matteotti is scheduled: expected roadway narrowing at times until May 18th. The dismantling operations of the crane currently present in the Parterre area will always be carried out at night. From 10pm on Tuesday 14th to 5am on Wednesday 15th a road narrowing will be established in Piazza della Libertà in the stretch from Via del Ponte Rosso to Via della Madonna della Tosse on the route towards Viale Don Minzoni. Parking bans are also foreseen.
INSTEAD, the first technical journey of the tram on the Variante to the historic center, up to Piazza San Marco, is scheduled for May 26th. On this occasion, a stop will also be named after the politician and intellectual Giuseppe Matulli, as announced by the mayor Dario Nardella: this is the first stop on Viale Lavagnini.
