While the weekend just ended offered almost summer conditions – thanks to theAfrican anticyclone – the weather is about to change in Piedmont and in Turin. The weather forecast for the next few days indicates the arrival of one rainy and unstable phase, with the retreat of high pressure which will leave room for Atlantic disturbances and currents of North African origin. This combination of atmospheric factors could generate thunderstorms, cloudbursts And hailstorms in the city and in the province of Turin.
Monday 13 May 2024: bad weather arriving
The week begins with the arrival of the first disturbance, which will bring scattered rain and thunderstorms across much of the Piedmontese territory. In Turin, very cloudy skies are expected with intermittent rainfall, starting in the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperatures will not exceed 14°C, with minimums around 12°C.

Tuesday 14 May 2024: rain and cold
The second day of the week will see very cloudy skies with an intensification of bad weather. In fact, the rain will be the protagonist from morning to evening, sometimes even intense. The thermometer will see the minimum settle at 10° and the maximum around 14 degrees centigrade.

Wednesday 15 May 2024: further deterioration
During the day the bad weather will intensify further. A second disturbance will pass through the region, bringing widespread precipitation and thunderstorms, even of strong intensity. In Piedmont, including the Turin metropolitan area, rainfall accumulations of up to 120-150 millimeters will be recorded, with a peak expected on Wednesday. Temperatures will suffer a further drop, with maximums around 12 degrees and minimums at 9°C.

Thursday 16 May: still bad weather
The day will open with a third disturbance which will cross northern Italy, bringing further conditions of instability to the Piedmont region. In Turin we expect very cloudy skies with rain and scattered thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. It is not excluded that it could to hail. However, some brief sunny spells will also be possible during the day. Maximum temperatures will not exceed 17°Cwhile the minimum temperatures will be around 11°C. Winds will blow light from the south-west.

Friday 17 May 2024: Persistent Instability
On 17 May 2024 Piedmont and the province of Turin will be affected by conditions of atmospheric instability, with the risk of further precipitation and thunderstorms. On Friday we expect cloudy skies with scattered rain and showers

Saturday 18 May 2024: slight improvement
On the first day of the weekend the weather will be more variable, with alternating clouds and sunny spells. Temperatures will rise slightly, with highs around 21-22°C and lows of 12-13°C. The winds will blow light, mainly from the south-west.

Sunday 19 May 2024: pale sun
On the last day of the week we see the first signs of a possibility improvement in weather conditions. On Sunday the sky will still be partly cloudy, but with a greater presence of clear spells. Temperatures will rise slightly, with highs around 22°C and minimums of 9-10°C.
