LIVORNO “In campo” is the title of the film festival created by Cinema Teatro 4 Mori, in collaboration with Europa Cinema – Creative Europe Medias, Cineagenzia and Ultimo Uomo, and scheduled from Monday 13th to Tuesday 28th May.

Three events based on the theme of football, both men’s and women’s: “Copa 71”, a documentary film by Rachel Ramsay and James Erskine which follows the events of the 1971 Women’s World Cup, will be staged on Monday 13 May at 8.30pm; Monday 20 May at 9pm will be the turn of “The home game”, an Icelandic sports documentary by Smári Gunnarsson and Logi Sigursveinsson; finally on Tuesday 28 May at 6.30pm the screening of “Allihopa – The Dalkurd story”, the story of a group of Kurdish refugees who climb the Swedish charts, directed by Kordo Doski.

But the surprises don’t end there! On the occasion of the first film on Monday 13 May, a meeting with prestigious guests will be staged at 8.30pm to discuss one of the most debated topics of recent times, that of women’s sport.

To speak on the topic, moderated by the journalist Giulia Bellaveglia, they will be Sandy Iannella, former player of the Italian national team and current coach of the Pontedera youth men’s football team, Monica Bellandi, president of the Barontini Cup organizing committee e Alessio Ciampi, general director of Livorno Calcio Woman.

These are the plots of the films: “Copa 71” – Told by the pioneering women who participated, the extraordinary story of the 1971 Women’s World Cup, a tournament witnessed by a record number of spectators which has been canceled from sport, until now, “The home game,” a feel-good underdog tale about an Icelander’s clumsy attempt to carry out his father’s failed mission: to finally get a home game for their beloved fishing village on the unused field he had built 25 years earlier, “ Allihopa – The Dalkurd story”, the inspiring story of the Dalkurd Football Club, a scrappy group of Kurdish refugees in Sweden who rise through the ranks of the Swedish football leagues in the hope of becoming champions and bringing glory and attention to their stateless people.
