Tau Altopascio wins the play-off semi-final against Follonica Gavorrano (1-3 final) – Grosseto Sport

Tau Altopascio wins the play off semi-final against Follonica Gavorrano (1-3 final).

The first half sees Follonica Gavorrano as the author of many chances, but Tau takes the lead at the end of the half.

In the 6th minute the referee doesn’t see a foul against Ampollini and Malva flies towards the goal, Filippis coming out foils the opportunity for Tau.

On the other side, Grifoni, served by Barlettani, controls and shoots with his left foot, finding the deflection into the corner of the Amaranth defence.

In the 11th minute, a nice move by Follonica Gavorrano, which leads Macrì to shoot with his left foot from outside the area. His shot ends wide.

A minute later, another great opportunity for the red and white: Macrì serves the onrushing Nardella, who adjusts the ball and kicks, finding the goalkeeper’s reactive response.

There isn’t a second’s break: in the 14th minute another nice triangulation from Masi’s boys, Botrini from the back puts the ball in the middle for Mencagli who however shoots high.

In the 18th minute Macrì puts a ball in the middle for Ampollini’s head, the defender hits it but misses the target.

Macrì has a hot left foot and tests it again in the 23rd minute, finding the corner to the goalkeeper’s left. Di Biagio stretches and manages to deflect it into the corner with a dive.

In the 27th minute Tau can be seen moving forward with a free kick from the edge taken by Capparella, the ball ends up high over the crossbar.

Another good opportunity for Follonica Gavorrano in the 31st minute: Nardella flies down the left and puts it in the middle for Mencagli, who deflects the ball but puts it out.

In the 39th minute, a sure shot from Nardella, who shoots towards the net, finding the deflection on the line of Zini, who puts it in the corner.

In the 43rd minute, Tau surprisingly took the lead: Bruno received the ball on the edge of the area and first shot hard with the ball, Ampollini deflected it but the ball hit the post and went in, the score unblocked in favor of the guests.

The first half thus ends at 0-1 for Tau Altopascio, despite the many opportunities created by Follonica Gavorrano.

In the 4th minute of the second half Antoni doubled the lead for Tau, recovering a ball in the red and white area and beating Filippis with a shot into the corner.

In the 7th minute another opportunity for the guests with Malva, who shoots with his left foot and finds the response from Filippis.

Follonica Gavorrano shakes itself off and closes the gap in the 10th minute: Lo Sicco makes a treacherous cross-shot from a free kick which is intercepted by Botrini, bringing the score to 1-2.

The red and whites believe it and in the 16th minute Regoli tries a deflection into the area which ends high over the crossbar.

At 17′ Manetti kicks with force but finds the response from Filippis.

In the 32nd minute Regoli looks for a semi-inverted kick on Ceccanti’s cross, but doesn’t find the target.

In the 38th minute, Tau closes the gap: new substitute Piccini appears in front of the goalkeeper and beats him, scoring the 1-3 goal for the guests.

In full stoppage time, Pino’s header ends up high over the crossbar, while shortly after Regoli’s shot is deflected into a corner by the goalkeeper.

Thus the match ends at 1-3 in favor of Tau Altopascio, which thus enters the play off final. For Follonica Gavorrano they are now heading to the Italian Cup final against Trapani.
