Scooter collision in Naples: 20 year olds in serious condition

NAPLES – Collision between three scooters in Naples, in via Marina, around 3.30 today, Sunday 12 May. Upon impact, two boys were seriously injured.

The young people, rescued by 118, were taken to hospital under code red. One of the young people is hospitalized at the Mare hospital, with a reserved prognosis. A passenger who was on board was also injured and was taken to Cardarelli hospital. While the driver of a third vehicle remained unharmed.

From an initial reconstruction it would appear that the 20-year-old was riding his scooter, a Honda Sh 125, with a 21-year-old on board, traveling along Via Marina in the direction of Piazza Municipio, suddenly another scooter would have emerged from via DuomoHonda Sh 125, driven by a 26 year old rider, who took Via Marina in the prohibited directionwould have collided head-on with the other vehicle.

The impact would have caused the scooter driven by the 20-year-old to slide would have hit a third motorbike, Honda NX 500, driven by another 20-year-old, stopped at the traffic lights. The latter managed to stay on his vehicle, remaining unharmed and the motorbike was not damaged.

The 20-year-old driving the Honda sh 125 was first transported to hospital and has a guarded prognosis. The 21-year-old passenger was taken to Cardarelli under yellow code. The 26-year-old rider was taken to hospital under code red.

A serious accident occurred during the night in Palermo. A tourist who was hit and killed.
