Nemo he really let off steam while celebrating his win at the Eurovision Song Contest. Shortly after one in the morning, the 24 year old from Bienne destroyed the trophy he had just received.

In a video posted on social media you can see the very moment of the accident, which occurred while the TV broadcast was still in progress. Essentially the young Swiss singer fell on stage and, when he got up, he only found the top part of the crystal microphone in his hand. The base remained on the ground. The trophy was gone.

«Not just peace and love at ESC»

Fortunately, the organizers of the singing competition were probably ready for any eventuality… When Nemo showed up at the official press conference shortly afterwards, the artist was in fact holding a brand new trophy in his hand. “Now I have two, one brand new,” said the winner with his usual smile on his lips.

Also at the press conference, Nemo took the opportunity to express criticism of the ESC. “The trophy can be repaired, but perhaps the ESC also needs some minor adjustments.”

The artist then explained that he had spent a great week in Malmö, but with some flaws: «Many things were not unifying and loving and this made me sad. We and the ESC must work to create an environment in which there is peace and love.”

Nemo was finally asked by a journalist how he was able to show the non-binary flag at the initial show. The 24-year-old answered truthfully: “I brought my flag secretly. I broke the code and saved it. Maybe Eurovision also needs saving.”
