Rimini leaves Curi with the performance, but not with the result. However, it is a positive end to the season: the red and white have achieved two objectives, improving last year’s score and moving up a step in the playoffs.
The Perugia match leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. Not being able to capitalize on opportunities is a demerit and Mister Troise knows this well. Certainly his Rimini has undergone a significant growth process: and this is why the coach, welcomed by the public with so much skepticism (euphemism…), deserves reconfirmation in my opinion.
At Curi this year we saw two very different 0-0 draws. In the firstDuring the regular season, Rimini played with a low center of gravity, to protect their goal. Yesterday the Romagna red and whites attacked high, managed ball possession expertly, Megelaitis rose effectively to participate in the maneuver. And in a few moments of the match in which Perugia managed to take control of the game, the team fell back, compact, short, without ever falling apart. The two starting central defenders were missing: Gorelli did well once again, Lepri proves to be a young player of value, next year he must be a starter. And in the central role, which is his role.
Rimini, from the playoffs to the transfer market
Well done Troise, well done to the red and white boys who gave everything. Now we are diving into the market, aware that the company is already working behind the scenes to set up a competitive squad. It won’t be easy, in the meantime because the transfer sirens are sounding: Pietrangeli is leaving and it’s difficult to hold on Morra after a season of 20 goals: the striker is approaching 30 years of age and this summer he will make the last train to Serie B. Lamesta could also be of interest to some clubs in the lower division. Langella, however, should remain, according to Captain Colombi.
The company has been far-sighted in various operations: for example, next year Leoncini will no longer be at his first professional test and will be able to grow further. But it becomes essential to keep Malagrida on loan from Sampdoria for another year. He and Lepri are ready to be the starters. The third Under could be placed in the role of raiding attacking midfielder (the one covered by Garetto), or – preferably – as right back.
An interesting element in the role plays a few kilometers from Rimini: Giacomo Bertolotti, born in 2004 at the Parma school, two championships as a starter in D, the first in Lentigione and the second in San Marino. Bertolotti was born as a three-man defense arm or as a fifth, but this year he has played in multiple roles, under the wise direction of Stefano Cassani. In the 4-4-2 he played the right winger in midfield, with centralizing duties, in other matches he played the midfielder. He is a defender who has good technical qualities, even when setting up. Troise loves to field a chameleonic Rimini and Bertolotti could be a very interesting card at his disposal.
Two Under full-backs, a new left back: there are already three signings to be made. Semeraro – who will no longer be Under – needs an “alter ego”. The agents of Pietrangeli and Haveri have already proposed Alessandro Martina2000 raised in the nurseries of Trapani and Spal which expires with Ancona.
At the center is Gigli who intends to stay in Rimini, Gorelli is deserving of confirmation. At that point it would only be necessary to replace Pietrangeli and with Rosini the department would be complete.
Midfield chapter: Langella and Megelaitis are two pillars from which to start again. Sala has another year on his contract: his experience will be invaluable. In addition to Leoncini, another addition will be needed. Maybe a player who isn’t very young, but who could become a surprise over time. An interesting profile it is Precious Amayahborn in 2000 at the Verona school, highlighted in D in the Corticella revelation: player who can be used as a midfielder or midfielder, capable of combining quality and quantity.
In the attacking midfield, as mentioned, it is important to retain both Malagrida and Lamesta, and add another Under winger to Capanni. The purchases therefore rise to seven. At eight, considering that Delcarro and Marchesi are out of contract and that there is only Garetto as an attacking midfielder.
Final chapter for the striker: Morra is leaving, Cernigoi and Ubaldi have another year on their contracts. A signing (it would therefore be the ninth purchase, tenth possibly also considering a second goalkeeper: Colombo is out of contract) is needed. But three center forwards for one place is perhaps an excessive luxury. Also because the Under patrol seems a bit sparse quantitatively. But there is time to plan as best as possible, unlike a summer ago, when there was a change of ownership and a change in strategy once the transfer market had started.
