Molfetta returns to the sea. From June also data on toxic algae – MolfettaLive.it

Molfetta has already flowed into the sea immediately after Easter, thanks to the high temperatures of April, unusual, but enough to bring many people between Prima Cala, Torre Gavetone, “La Bussola” and even take their first swim.

The scenes will continue to repeat themselves with more and more insistence given the rapid approach to June, the month that par excellence christens the beautiful season.

But also the month from which Arpa Puglia begins its monitoring activity on the coast to ascertain and verify the presence of ostreopsis ovata, more commonly known to all as toxic algae.
Last year the data for Molfetta were encouraging: the first part of the summer, in fact, went straight without any particular problems. As always, the first detection arrived close to the end of July, also the result of the record temperatures that occurred in those days with an entire city gasping for air from the heat. Ditto on August 15th and then decrease with the conclusion of the seaside year in September.

This year too, the sea water samples will be collected in the Prima Cala area, then analyzed and disseminated on a bi-weekly basis by ARPA experts.
