The leading experts in regenerative surgery meet in Treviso | Today Treviso | News

TREVISOThe elite of multi-specialist regenerative surgery will meet in Treviso on Friday 17 May for the first congress of SIMCRI Nord Est, the Italian Society of multi-specialist medicine and surgery regenerative, of which the Treviso neurosurgeon Alberto Alexandre is president for the Triveneto, one of the leading Italian experts in surgery of the peripheral nervous system and spinal pathologies, as well as founder and medical director of EU.NI (European Neurosurgical Institute). The first SIMCRI congress in the Marche will bring together at the Maggior Consiglio hotel around fifty prominent exponents of the clinical, scientific and academic world to explore the topic of the new frontiers of regenerative surgery: a particular branch of medicine that aims at the “repair” of damaged tissues from trauma, pathology or aging, through minimally invasive interventions with very high precision, based on cellular regeneration.

“This approach exploits the ability of the body’s cells to repair or regenerate damaged tissues, particularly in the orthopedic field, for the treatment of some very common and highly disabling pathologies of the hip and knee, the spine and the nerves of the limbs – underlines the president Alberto Alexandre – thanks to regenerative surgery it is therefore possible to avoid or postpone the use of demolitive or prosthetic surgery further in time, to the full advantage of the well-being of the patient, who will be able to find an answer to the disorder that causes pain and difficulty in movement, reducing the convalescence and the after-effects of the operation, with positive effects on the quality of life. The congress that we are honored to host in Treviso will be an opportunity to take stock of the brilliant results achieved so far by regenerative surgery and the promising clinical prospects in the implementation phase”.

Among the participants in the scientific congress: Professor Massimo Danese, national president of SIMCRI, vascular surgeon, who operates in the sector of “open vascular surgery” and “endo-vascular surgery” with minimally invasive techniques, will propose a master’s lesson on the most innovative approaches for the treatment of ischemia. Dr. Gaetano Caloprisco, former head of Transfusion Medicine in Belluno, is one of the scientific fathers of the use of platelet gel to stimulate tissue repair in the body.

Dr. Diletta Trojan, director of the Treviso Tissue Bank Foundation, the largest in Italy, as well as president of the EATCB (European Association of Tissue and Cell Banks) and of the young scientific board SIMCRI.

The congress is open to citizens and has free admission. For professionals, such as doctors, pharmacists, biologists, healthcare technicians, nurses, physiotherapists and dentists, it is possible to register to obtain ECM training credits – Continuing Medical Education from the Ministry of Health.
