Prevention and correct lifestyle are the two faces of longevity and we want to remember this through the Longevity Run, which is also and above all a great event dedicated to health and advice on how to give yourself many years to live in good health – explains the Prof Landi. We will be there, alongside and among the people, to offer free screening, reiterate the importance of prevention, also on the topic of vaccines (flu, Herpes Zoster, COVID-19), and to be the first to set a good example”.

The fight against chronicity is all fought here, on the prevention of diseases such as diabetes, dyslipidemia, dementia and malnutrition – specifies the Dr Rossi -. These conditions are combated through the promotion of a correct lifestyle that includes physical exercise, healthy eating, abstinence from smoking and alcohol and without neglecting sleep hygiene”.

The Lorenzon Study Center of the Catholic University which I have had the honor of directing since September last, is carrying forward the wishes expressed in the bequest of Countess Lorenzon, that is, promoting the culture of hope, encouraging the full implementation of the dignity of man – comments the Dr Dario -. The Longevity Run is an excellent opportunity to achieve this objective, as well as a way to create the bridge between the academic world of the Catholic University, and the Gemelli Polyclinic, with the communities and institutions of Treviso. We are in fact enthusiastically promoting and supporting this project, which offers us the opportunity to experience and participate in this important initiative with all the components present today, the institutions that sponsor the event and all the sponsors we have involved and whom we thank”.

Combining information and monitoring of citizens’ health with an event that manages to involve many people is a merit that must be recognized to the Longevity Run initiative – declares the general director of Ulss 2, Francesco Benazzi -. RFor this I thank the promoters and organizers of the Treviso edition, and my collaborators who provide the support so that it can be an important moment of reflection for everyone on the topic of longevity and the correct lifestyles connected to it. Every occasion for aggregation for the well-being of citizens – concludes the general director – can only find the support of Ulss 2, attentive to these issues with various activities which see, as in the case of this important initiative, a synergy between hospital, Department of Prevention and territory”.
