The “apprentice guides” of the FAI adopt and describe Trani to their companions who have come from far away

The FAI regional project “Classmates” has just ended, which for several years has seen the first, second and third classes of the Rocca Bovio Palumbo school in Trani, registered with the FAI, engaged in the observation, study and “adoption” of the places of historical-artistic value of our territory.
After a series of training meetings, organized by Dr. Margherita Pasquale, art historian, former Director of the Swabian Castle of Trani, the students became the real protagonists both as visitors and in the role of “Apprentice Ciceroni” on April 18th, April 24th and May 9th, to discover the fascinating history of our city through the churches of Ognissanti and San Giacomo.
The objective of the project fits well with the vision of the Rocca Bovio Palumbo school, that of developing all aspects of the children’s personality, increasing their curiosity and positive and critical interaction with the world around them; to guarantee an inclusive teaching approach through the universal language of the arts; to build a collective identity, in which the individual is part of the same community whose cultural heritage becomes everyone’s and therefore to be preserved, protected and promoted.
During the FAI days, the “Apprentice Ciceroni” students welcomed their classmates and German teachers from the “Justin – Wagner” school in Rossdorf as part of the Erasmus project and groups from other schools in the area, such as the SSS I grade ” Ascanio Grandi” of Lecce confirming the specific vocation of the school to the development of intercultural relations based on knowledge and comparison between different cultures.
According to Cicerone “Ignoring everything that happened before you were born is equivalent to always being a child”, today, our school intends to seize all the opportunities offered by the institutions and associations present in the area to guarantee an interactive growth path for our students.
