“Through the resources of Measure B of the NextAppennino Programme, intended for the entrepreneurial fabric present in the territories affected by the 2009 and 2016 earthquakes, the number of projects and incentives financed are 1471, for a total of 530.5 million euros. Almost 234 million have been allocated to the Marche region alone, for 564 projects. In the province of Ascoli Piceno, in particular, there are 280 projects financed, for 75 million”. These are some of the data illustrated today by the 2016 earthquake commissioner structure during the conference held in Ascoli Piceno this morning, at the Confindustria headquarters entitled “NextAppennino: development prospects of the contemporary Apennines after the earthquake”.

The Structure has disclosed the details of the funding allocated to the province of Ascoli through the various sub-measures of the Next Apennines Programme: over 41 million euros fall to the province of Ascoli in Measure B1: 8.3 million for 4 projects in sub-measure B1.2 (Medium-sized investments), 17.8 million for 147 projects in sub-measure B1.3a (Start-up, growth and return of micro-enterprises), 10 million for 75 projects in sub-measure B1.3b ( Innovative investments by SMEs) and 5.8 million for 6 projects in sub-measure B1.3c (Start-up, growth and return of SMEs), for a total of 232 projects.

Measure B2 Tourism, culture and sport” allocates over 23 million euros for the province of Ascoli Piceno. In particular 11 million for 20 projects of sub-measure B2.1 (Support for culture, tourism, sport), 7.4 million for 3 projects of sub-measure B2.2 (Special partnership for the valorization of public heritage) and 5.7 million for 16 projects of sub-measure B2.3

(Social inclusion, cooperation and third sector).

Measure B3 “Circular economy and rubble cycle”, in the province of Ascoli Piceno allocates 5.1 million for 9 projects.

The material reconstruction of villages and hamlets – commented the 2016 earthquake commissioner structure – alone it is not enough to guarantee a future for territories that have long suffered from a phenomenon of depopulation which, even before the earthquake, had already significantly weakened those places. Precisely to respond to the need to support the economic and social fabric, the commissioner structure was also entrusted with the task of providing for the repair action, which can count on a tool of great importance: NextAppennino. This is the 2009 and 2016 Earthquake Complementary Plan Programme, whose resources are intended to support investments in the area for projects relating to many sectors: tourist reception services, hospitality and sporting activities, cultural activities, innovation, economic transition , ecological and digital. It is precisely on the projects financed by Macro measure B in the Province of Ascoli Piceno that the attention of the conference was focused in which, in addition to the 2016 earthquake commissioner structure, the Ministry of Finance, the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno, the department of the Marche Region for Productive Activities, the president of Confindustria Ascoli, Simone Ferraioli. Finally, during the conference, some owners of local businesses benefiting from NextAppennino also spoke and described the characteristics of their projects.”.

Gino Sabatini, president of the Marche Chamber of Commerce: “The force put in by the Commissioner is important and the resources put in place are considerable, which give the possibility of being able to develop the ideas that were in the drawer. We need to bring young people back into the communities, to bring back the driving force of the communities. The help of CNext can become fundamental, technology has moved forward a lot, keeping up with digitalisation gives us the important obligation to stay close to the business world”.

Simone Ferraioli, president of Confindustria Ascoli: “There is a moment of turmoil in the Apennine areas regarding the purchase of houses by foreigners. We must encourage the valorization of our real estate assets. Let’s think about what to do for the commissioner structure, CNext Piceno will soon be born, a new innovation hub that will be located in Ascoli and be a point of reference in the area. We try to institutionalize these ideas to have a committee or project table on the crater areas. We need economy and jobs in these areas, today there is the opportunity for the crater to have an innovation hub connected with the rest of Italy”.
