The 21st edition of the ‘Città di Pesaro’ International Music Competition took place on 4/7 May 2024 and saw the participation of over 200 musicians from all over the world. Among these the Orchestra of the Liceo Classico e Musicale Annibale Mariotti, formed and directed by Francesco Seri, instrument teacher at the high school, clarinettist with very important collaborations and musical experiences, including, perhaps the best known to the general public, the soundtrack of ‘ The Postman by Massimo Troisi.

The Orchestra, which performed on the stage of the prestigious Rossini Theater in Pesaro, presented pieces from the ballet “Estancia” “Danza del trigo by Alberto Ginastera, and from the composition Danzon n. 2 by Arturo Màrquez, winning the first School Prize 2024 in the Orchestra category. As proof of the extraordinary success achieved by the young city musicians, we must add to this recognition the individual one of Giuditta Corazzol, a student of the VM of the high school and followed by Francesco Seri himself, as a clarinettist. She won first prize among soloists with a score of 100/100 and a special mention from the jury.
