The event will be held from 17 to 24 May “Typical dishes in Blue” will invade Ancona with an initiative on the theme “From sea to sea“. Gastronomy, research, economy, science, environment and culture in the rich program that involves the entire city. This event, which will see the participation of famous people and renowned entities from all over Italy, will transform the city into a lively crossroads of maritime culture and tradition.

Among the suggestive scenarios that will frame this event, the imposing Arch of Trajan, the suggestive Mole Vanvitelliana, the picturesque tourist port of Marina Dorica and the suggestive promontory of the Passetto stand out. Today, these iconic places could be compared to real “emoticons”, stylized representations of the indissoluble bond between Ancona and the sea, which has always characterized its identity and charm.

Typicality in Blu AnconaNow in its eleventh edition, Tipicità in Blu is renewed, transformed and grows significantly, doubling its scope: from the vibrant popular Festival in the first weekend, to the unmissable days dedicated to the blue economy that follow.

The experience starts from Marina Dorica and ends at the suggestive scenery of the Passetto, in an epic “coast to coast” journey that will lead the city until the long-awaited Sea Festival, scheduled for September.

Sailing Chef

In Marina Dorica, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the “Sailing chef” on Saturday 18th, explore the exhibition center dedicated to the blue world at the suggestive Mole Vanvitelliana and delve into technical and scientific topics in the Unicorn event room of the Passetto. The city venues participating in the initiative will offer special gastronomic circuits such as “menu in blue” and “aperiblu”with the absolute protagonism of sardone, one of the symbolic dishes of Ancona cuisine.

Typicality in Blu AnconaDuring the entire weekend, from 17 to 19 May, at Marina Dorica, Typicality in Blue will explore the frontiers of good taste with guided tasting events dedicated to aquaculture, alien fish species, Anconi style stockfish, seafood cuisine and the concept of reuse. The flavors will be combined with the wines of the Marche presented by IMT and local agricultural productions in collaboration with Coldiretti.

Typicality in Blue with young students

Tipicità in Blu 2024 speaks in particular to young people, giving voice and involving students of all school levels, for all eight days of the event. CNA, Confartigianato, Confcommercio and Confindustria are once again at the forefront with active contributions in the fields of boating, shipbuilding, catering and the blue economy.

30 events scheduled

Overall, there are thirty events scheduled: from science to gastronomy, from culture to boating, from the water cycle to the circular economy. It’s all there in the “Blue Way” followed by Tipicità in Blu, which this year also launches the unprecedented challenge “forty-eight hours to decipher the sea”, with the innovative Hackathon which sees partners, together with the Municipality of Ancona, IRBIM CNR and the Polytechnic University of Marche, the most renowned Italian research and blue growth entities (www.theblueway.it).

Contributing to the themes explored by Tipicità in Blu 2024 will beNational Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics, the University of Trieste, the Northern Adriatic Technological Poleas well as a partnership with the technical-scientific committee of ECOMONDO for the blue economy (Rimini), to “export” the experiences gained with Tipicità in Blu also in other Italian and international contexts.
