Nik Raivio is the only certainty for Legnano Basket who is trying to understand how to build the new team with coach Piazza. GM Maurizio Basilico confirmed it today, Friday 10 May: «There’s no doubt we’re part of Raivio».
On the other hand, Scali’s presence is not yet certain who has an exit option in his contract. «With him we have until June 30th, we have to understand if we will find a fair compromise». Everything will depend on the budget the Knights can count on: «For the moment we don’t have any other names, we are trying to understand how much we can invest in the new team which in fact still needs to be built. We’re starting almost from scratch, on the one hand it’s positive, on the other it’s complex in many respects. But we have faith in coach Piazza and we are very clear about what our objectives are.”
At the same time, the Legnano team are keeping an eye on the playoffs of the Regional B series that Sangiorgese basketball is competing to rise to the National Serie B. The neighbors Knights won Game 1 against Blu Orobica Bergamo (67-42). Race 2 will be held at 6.30 pm on Saturday 11 May in Bergamo, while Race 3 will be held at PalaBertelli at 8.30 pm on Wednesday 15 May.
