As announced, the Ferrari took to the track this morning at the Fiorano circuit for the second Filming Day of the season. In addition to carrying out commercial filming for the new main sponsor HP, the opportunity was also tempting to test the important updates that the SF-24 will take to the track in Imola next race weekend. A series of important innovations, with which the Red Team intends to considerably reduce the gap that separates it from Red Bull.
Leclerc and Sainz on track at Fiorano
Was Charles Leclerc the first to go into action on his home track, with the Monegasque also taking the opportunity to optimize procedures with the new track engineer Bryan Bozzi, who starting from the Imola weekend will take Xavi Marcos’ place on the wall box. Among the most striking innovations, the aerodynamic package presents a renewed shape of the bellies, with the inlets now inspired by the concepts of the Red Bull RB20 and characterized by a sort of inverted tray with a decidedly tapered opening: all with the aim of optimizing the outwash effect, guaranteeing greater pressure and “cleaning” the flow of turbulence generated by the rolling of the front tyres.
There is no shortage of new features on the bottom and front wing
Great innovations are expected for the bottom of the car, the least visible part of the single-seater but also the one capable of guaranteeing the greatest “leap” in terms of development: it promises to be completely redesigned on the version “evo”both with regards to the performance of Venturi channels but also in the sidewalk area. Minor innovations were seen in the area of the front wing, adopted to operate in synergy with the new shape of the bellies, while on the sides of the cockpit two curious vertical appendages separated from the Halo appeared.

In short, in Maranello they wanted to wait longer than the main competitors to bring the package of updates, meticulously taking care of every aspect to be sure to make the most of the “window” granted by the regulation: but the feeling is that it is something new of certain depth, which in some ways bring it closer Ferrari to Red Bull’s philosophies Adrian Newey which has so far proved almost unbeatable.
