Everything is ready: the first stage of the Cupra Icar Padel 4 traveling tournament has finally arrived. The appointment is scheduled to start from 9 am on Sunday morning (12 May) on the We Padel fields, inside the Premier Sporting Club in via Pontina, in Latina. This is, as mentioned, the first of a series of events dedicated to padel which are part of the Cupra Icar Padel 4 project, created by Città Sport Cultura and which will take place on the second Sunday of each month. The protagonists will be the best clubs and padel players in the province and beyond. Yes, because already in this first stage the four teams that will compete with the final-4 formula, the Bola Padel Club of Rome will be on the field, with the team in Serie A and the club among the largest and most important in the Capital also at a national level, which immediately accepted the invitation to participate. Also starring in Sunday’s tournament are Conti Sport City from Anzio, a club owned by Bruno Conti’s family and captained by his son Andrea, the boys from Vibora from Terracina, a leading club in the south of Pontine, and of course the hosts We Padel – Premier Sporting Club Latina.
THE PROGRAM
It will be a morning full of events. At 9.00 the draws before the start, then off to the Swap Challenge, that is to say a fun challenge between the players who will have to hit targets with a ball launcher installed thanks to the sponsor Swap Padel – Padel Nuestro. At 10.30 am the highlight with the official cutting of the ribbon of the event and the inauguration of the first Icar CUPRA Padel Club in the province, in the presence of the highest institutional officials in the province of Latina. Then space for the protagonists, with the morning culminating with the convivial moment, a sort of third half, all the players together at the table at the L’Amo restaurant in Latina, where the awards ceremony will also take place.
PADEL 4 VILLAGE
But the protagonist will not only be the padel played. The Cupra Icar Padel 4 wants to be a real meeting point also for all those who will not be on the pitch. In fact, the Padel 4 Village will be installed, to involve enthusiasts and above all members of the Padel 4 community in an all-round event. A commercial village will be set up around the host club where all the brand partners of the event will find space. All designed to allow guests to spend half a day playing padel games, test drives, challenges, engaging games and information points.
THE TOURNAMENT FORMULA
Each match will be divided into three categories (Gold-Silver-Bronze), the sequence will be drawn before the match and will be valid for all matches scheduled during the morning (semi-final and final). Each team will field two players per category, the winner is the one who reaches 21 games through three sequential matches: at 7 games the second couple in the race will take over, at 14 the third couple will enter and will have to reach 21 games to win the match. If the score is 20-all, a best-of-seven tie-break will be played.
THE COMMUNITY
Passion unites, especially in sport. Sharing common interests with people from all over Italy or the province is particularly easy thanks to the internet. CUPRA ICAR PADEL FOUR is a community, not a WhatsApp group. And it’s made up of people. It is the transversal tool that unites local clubs, teachers and padel players who, although in everyday life they can be very different from each other, have only one thought when they have the racket in their hand: enjoying the game and having fun. Its creation is based on the need to pursue an objective, dictated by the passion for padel, causes and experiences full of meaning for its participants, to be experienced both in person and online. From a simple match to organized tournaments, from an information network to practical newsletters, the community offers all clubs and padel players a safe, simple to use and private space in which to contribute, bring together different groups and discover of new ones.
