The finalists of the Strega Prize 2024: On Sunday 19 May the Maga museum will host the twelve writers in the Sala degli Arazzi selected for the most prestigious award in Italian publishing.

The event – presented in a press conference by councilor Claudia Mazzetti – is part of the twenty-six stages of the Premio Strega Tour, traveling presentations in the area, in view of the final evening.

Preview of the XXV edition of Duemilalibri, the event is organized in collaboration with the City of Gallarate and Duemilalibri – Book and author daysas well as the Maga and the Biblos Mondadori bookshop.

The meeting (at 4pm) will be led by Alessandro Barbagliawriter and bookseller, already winner of the Strega Prize for girls and boys in 2021 with “Checkmate among the stars”.

The finalists are Sonia Aggio, with In the emperor’s room (Fazi); ⁠Adrian N. Well donewith Adelaida (Nutritions), ⁠Paolo Di Paolo with Novel without humans (Feltrinelli), ⁠Donatella Di Pietrantonio with The fragile age (Einaudi), Tommaso Giartosio with Autobiogrammar, Antonella Lattanzi with Things that aren’t told (Einaudi), Valentina Mira with On the same side you will find me (SEM), ⁠Melissa Panarello with History of my money (Bompiani), ⁠Daniele Rielli with The invisible fire. Human story of a natural disaster (Rizzoli)Raffaella Romagnolo with Fixing the Universe (Mondadori), ⁠Chiara Valerio with Who says and who is silent (Sellerio), ⁠Dario Voltolini with Winter (the ship of Theseus).

A prestigious moment for Gallarate, the city where Helena Janeczek, Premio Strega 2018, also lives. It is the only event in Lombardy, together with Bergamo. Also worth mentioning is the meeting in Verbania nearby.
