The earth trembles again in Pozzuoli. Two tremors occurred late this morning in the Campi Flegrei area.
Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.7 and 3.6, within a minute of each other, occurred in the Campi Flegrei area. The tremors were recorded by the Vesuvian Observatory at 1.25pm and 1.26pm respectively and were clearly felt by the population in the Phlegraean municipalities of Pozzuoli and Bacoli and in the neighborhoods of the western area of Naples, falling geographically in the Campi Flegrei, Bagnoli and Fuorigrotta, but also in some points of the hilly area of the city, in particular Vomero and Arenella.
In both cases the epicenter was located in the Gulf of Pozzuoli at a depth of 3 and 4 km. Two earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 and 1.7 had already occurred in the morning.
The second shock was felt more by the population in the Phlegraean municipalities and in the western area of Naples. In Pozzuoli many took to the streets. Shortly before there had been a loud bang.
No damage to people or things was reported. The tremors were localized by the Vesuvian Observatory, the Neapolitan headquarters of the INGV.
