The Umbrian ranking by income…

If, as mentioned, Pescara occupies thefirst place in the rankingfollows on the second step of the podium the municipality of Terniwith beyond 700,000 euros proceeds from fines for violation of the Highway Code.

…and in per capita amounts

Facile.it also calculated the value of “per capita fine” (as the ratio between the revenues recorded in Siope and the number of resident inhabitants) although, it should be specified that not all fines are imposed on resident motorists and, indeed, in some areas tourists and commuters contribute significantly to the overall figure.

From the analysis it emerges that also in this case the ranking remains unchanged: in first place is found Perugiawith a per capita fine equal to 32 eurosfollowed by Terniwith a per capita fine of just 7 euros.

Small municipalities

Limiting the analysis to Umbrian municipalities with
fewer than 5,000 residentsthree municipalities in the first place province of Terni: Acquasparta which, compared to 4,415 inhabitants, grossed more than in 2023 287 thousand euros, Montecastrilliwhich with 4,814 inhabitants has received more than 249,000 euros in fines and Alviano (1,368 inhabitants, 186 thousand euros).

* The analysis was carried out by Facile.it on Siope data, the information system of the operations of public bodies, updated to 15 February 2024 with reference to the item “proceeds from fines and sanctions for violations of the rules of the highway code against families” relating to the year 2023 and to Italian municipalities only. The per capita value was calculated by comparing the revenues of each Municipality with the number of inhabitants resident on 1 January 2023 (source: Istat).
