A season as a great protagonist: the championship he has led so far cannot be defined otherwise, waiting to see how the playoffs will go, Payton Terrell Willis that is, the guard from Estra Pistoia Basket making his debut this year in Serie A.
In addition to being in the running for the title of best LBA player, waiting to know what the outcome of the preferences expressed by the public from all over Italy will be, in the meantime, in the setting of the Caffè Valiani Bellagio in via Enrico Fermi in Pistoia, Payton has a double award: the “Florence One MVP Awards” both for the month of April, which coincided with the official salvation of Estra Pistoia Basket in the LBA and then with qualification for the playoffs, and the absolute one relating to the regular season. This was decreed by the red and white fans through the votes expressed on the official Pistoia Basket App, the same channel where the preferences of recent months were expressed which saw alternating between the “MVPs”, in addition to Willis himself, also Charlie Moore, Carl Wheatle and Derek Ogbeide.
The awards ceremony took place, as always, live on Radio Pistoia Web in the presence of a large group of fans and Willis was accompanied by the sporting director, Marco Sambugaro, by the team manager Andrea Tronconi together with the assistants of coach Nicola Brienza, namely Luca Angella and Tommaso Della Rosa. The unmissable presence of Bob Muzzi, the club’s official translator, to let everyone present and those following from home hear the impressions of the player himself and then Emiliano Ferroni of Florence One who, throughout the season, linked his brand to this recognition and the club’s marketing, commercial and communication manager, Giulio Pacini. With this appointment the award comes to an end for this season, obviously waiting to see what the team will do in the playoffs against Germani Brescia.
