The parish priest of the Velletri prison, who had been working in the Via Cisternense penitentiary for a year and a half, was arrested by Penitentiary Police officers. The 62-year-old priest has been Director of the historic Salesian Institute of Genzano for approximately three years and has been parish priest of Velletri Prison for a year and a half.
During some checks by the prison officers, who had probably monitored the situation, one and a half kilos of hashish, 60g of cocaine and six mobile phones were found in the religious man’s bag with containers for personal hygiene.
The man was arrested for drug possession and dealing, with the aggravating circumstance of having taken advantage of his role within the structure.
Now he is now in one of the cells of the Veliterno prison. The arrest was validated by the Velletri Prosecutor’s Office. Investigations continue to understand where the drugs came from.
