Space for solidarity Saturday 11 May with “Donate the shopping”, the initiative of collection of basic necessities Of Coop Alliance 3.0which transforms a daily activity such as shopping into a valuable choice to support those in difficulty.

In Emilia-Romagna the appointment will involve 178 Coop Alleanza 3.0 hypercoop and supermarket stores.

The Coop Alleanza 3.0 stores involved in the initiative are distributed as follows:

· 44 in Bologna and its province

· 6 in the province of Forlì-Cesena

· 13 in Ferrara and its province

· 28 in Modena and its province

· 18 in Piacenza and its province

· 10 in Parma and its province

· 19 in Ravenna and its province

· 27 in Reggio Emilia and its province

· 13 in Rimini and its province

Overall, “Donate your shopping” will involve over 320 points of sale including hypercoops and supermarkets of Coop Alleanza 3.0 – distributed from Friuli Venezia Giulia to Puglia – and EasyCoop (www.easycoop.com), the Cooperative’s online shopping service.

“Donate your shopping” is organized with the volunteer network and local institutions, in collaboration with over 300 associations and bodies throughout the territory and with the support of Coop volunteer members for the management and promotion part. The donations will go to people and families in difficulty, remaining within that territory.

On Saturday 11 May, at the entrance to the stores, Coop volunteer members and those of participating local entities, identifiable thanks to the appropriate bibs, will distribute shopping bags for the collection and a flyer with the list of products that can be donated. Non-perishable basic necessities can be allocated: oil, tuna and canned legumes, flour and sugar, biscuits and breakfast products, pasta and rice, long-life foods, articles for hygiene and personal and household care. home, and for childhood.

In 2023 the last day dedicated to collecting basic necessities took place on 14 October. On that occasion, over 180 tons of basic necessities were collected in around 320 points of sale belonging to the Cooperative, which reached the hands of over 340 local businesses to help families and people in difficulty, thanks to the generosity of members and customers and to the support of volunteers.

Furthermore, EasyCoop users continued to provide a concrete contribution, donating to the Community of Sant’Egidio over 80 boxes of basic necessities for a total of almost half a ton, simply with a click on the site or from the App.

The initiative is part of the actions envisaged by the Coop Alleanza 3.0 Sustainability Plan inspired by the 17 goals of the UN Agenda 2030. In particular, this initiative responds to the objectives of fair distribution of resources.

EasyCoop, the online shopping service of Coop Alleanza 3.0, also participates in the “Donate your shopping” initiative. Until May 26, in the areas where the Coop Alleanza 3.0 online shopping service is active, users will be able to donate boxes containing basic necessities to the Community of Sant’Egidio simply by clicking on the website www.easycoop. com,or from App.

The EasyCoop service is active in more than 110 municipalities distributed across the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma, Ravenna, Forlì and Cesena; in over 210 municipalities between Rovigo, Padua, Treviso, Vicenza, Venice-Mestre.
