The sixth edition of the Health Tour starts from Anzio, which this year will visit 15 Italian locations, offering citizens the opportunity to undergo free consultations aimed at reducing the risk of chronic diseases and at the same time to participate in various community activities. The Lazio stage of the Tour della Salute will be held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May, in Piazza Garibaldi, with opening hours from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm on both days. The traveling event, promoted by ASC Attivi Sportive Confederate, with the unconditional contribution of EG STADA and the patronage of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, aims to raise citizens’ awareness of the importance of prevention, of the need to conduct a healthy lifestyle and the centrality of sports practice in combating the onset of diseases. Over the next weekend, Piazza Garibaldi will therefore be transformed into a real health and sports village, within which there will be a Screen Station, equipped with 6 clinics, where it will be possible to undergo free checks and medical consultations. cardiological, dermatological, nutritional, rheumatological, psychological and veterinary (for your pets), treated by qualified representatives of the main scientific societies. In particular, advice will be offered on the prevention and management of any pathologies, but also suggestions regarding correct nutrition, the physical activity to be carried out and the importance of adhering to therapy. This is a particularly valuable service, which in previous editions of the tour has allowed us to detect several cases of unaware citizens struggling with serious health problems, who, thanks to the checks carried out in the Screen Station, have averted potentially serious consequences.
Furthermore, two great innovations of this edition are worth mentioning: the OSAS desk, the result of the synergy between Sapienza University, the San Donato-Villa Erbosa Group, ACI and the Caracciolo Foundation, within which it will be possible to carry out tests on the risk of encountering sleep apnea and receive valuable information about it; and Capsula, a digital platform created with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo RBM Salute, which will allow citizens to have various vital parameters measured, relating to their lifestyle and well-being, through the use of artificial intelligence. In addition to medical consultations, many physical, recreational and aggregative activities will be offered, managed by qualified instructors and operators belonging to the ASC network, who will involve the public in their respective disciplines and offer demonstrations of their skills. In particular, during the Anzio stage, there will be space for Latin American dances and Zumba, organized by Asd Fresquesitos and Ab Dance Academy By Rosy Bortolami. Finally, the other great news of the 2024 Health Tour: the collateral project Health at the centre, created by ASC in order to promote sporting activity throughout the national territory, supporting a change in one’s lifestyles. Actors of this transformation are the Health Sports Centres, which will propose specific activities aimed at subjects considered vulnerable due to age (in particular the elderly), pathological condition (people with stabilized chronic non-communicable pathologies) or socio-economic situation ( in the case of minors aged between 7 and 17).
Finally, the Prevention Department of ASL Roma 6 will take part in the Anzio stop, which will be present with the Screening Camper (for the prevention of breast, cervical and colorectal cancer) and with the Camper of Prevention, within which specialized professionals will operate in the promotion of correct lifestyles and the prevention of chronic diseases. In particular, the nursing staff will be available to carry out an initial assessment of vital parameters (measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, blood saturation) and blood sugar dosage, while the physiotherapists of the Rehabilitation Service will carry out an initial identification of the presence of any motor disability or reduced mobility, with advice and simple suggestions for functional recovery.
The general director of ASC, Valter Vieri, underlines that “the Health Tour is now a solid reality and a point of reference for many citizens who await our arrival to spend a day dedicated to prevention, fun and sports practice” . Giuliano Lombardi, president of the Scientific Committee of the Health Tour, believes that “this sixth edition of the Health Tour is the most complete ever, as it combines all the fundamental aspects with a view to safeguarding not only one’s physical health, but also one’s mental health and even the well-being of your pets.” Salvatore Butti, managing director of EG STADA Group, highlights how “the STADA Health Report 2023 revealed that over 4 out of 10 Italians do not undergo prevention checks due to a lack of awareness and sensitivity on the topic or due to limited economic resources.
