A matter on which, net of the investigative activities of the investigators, the centre-right coalition asks the Mayor to account regarding the protection of the image of the City and of the provincial transport company of which Trani, together with the metropolitan city of Bari, is a shareholder of majority.
Below is the note signed by the group leaders of FDI, FI, Lega and LPS on the STP affair:
“Given that the involvement of the STP in the legal matters now under the attention of the judicial offices of Bari is hypothesized in many quarters;
– that various journalistic sources have reported on the issue, albeit in very vague terms;
– that, among these, particular diffusion and consequent social alarm aroused the report broadcast on 18 April by 7, during the investigative program “Piazza Pulita”;
– that the article published on 24 April by the newspaper “La Verità” also created particular concerns, given that “in Trani”, according to the aforementioned journalistic source, there would have been cases of electoral support, favored by the promise of positions of Work;
– that both hypotheses, all yet to be verified, were formulated in a single temporal context, so much so that they also suggest a possible connection between them;
– taking into account that the corporate shares of STP are largely held by Amet and the Municipality of Trani;
– while we hope that what is reported by the aforementioned sources of information is not true, we ask the Mayor and the Councilor for legality and transparency and for this reason we ask them a formal question to find out if initiatives aimed at supporting of the City and the companies it holds.”
